Humanitarian Relief

Afghanistan’s economy has been devastated by more than four decades of conflict. The western-aid-dependent country faces widespread hunger amid a worsening humanitarian crisis. Following the collapse of the US-backed government on August 15, international aid organizations suspended their humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan. More than 90% of the population fell below the poverty line since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan.

An estimated 10 million Afghan children face hunger and malnutrition due to poverty caused by continued conflicts. Thousands wait in long queues for food to put a piece of bread on the table for their families. Despite the discontinuation of international funds in Afghanistan, some small-scale NGOs continue their humanitarian assistance. According to the UN, about 22.8 million people face acute food insecurity all over the country, and 8.7 million are in an emergency level of hunger. Humanitarian aid entails speedy intervention to save lives, alleviation of suffering and help for disaster victims to get back on their feet. We often follow up on our humanitarian activities with development projects to mitigate the impact of the crisis on vulnerable communities. We continuously serve vulnerable communities in need in various provinces of Afghanistan.
